Our Faith

A benefit of being part of a world-wide communion is being able to tap into the resources of 70 million Anglicans. England has many resources as this is where we trace our roots as a denomination. We would like to refer you to the English website for the discussion of What is Christianity and What is Anglicanism.

Keep in mind that while our roots are English, Anglicans worship as a group of monks in the Solomon Islands dressed in scarlet loincloths and with log drums as the choice of instrument. A popular meal in an Anglican parish in the Canadian Diocese of Keewatin would be muskrat pie. The Anglican Church in the Sudan is grateful that Canadian Anglicans provide money for cars for clergy so that they would no longer be mauled by lions when riding bicycles. All these folk have found a spiritual and liturgical home within the Anglican Family.

So we are keenly aware that Christ’s followers, even those who chose to call themselves Anglicans, are hosts to a wide variety of belief and practice. But we have to start, and so ask, “What is Christianity?” The link below will give you a good start. There are further links listed on the Home Page of this site that will help you in your quest. God bless you on your journey.

And “What is an Anglican?” The quick answer is that an Anglican is anyone who has decided to live out their Christian faith in the context of Anglican worship and Anglican community. There is a very good discussion of this at the site given below. Other links on our Home Page will give you further help in answering this question.
